Upon successful completion of the Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity at PAIU, graduates will be equipped with advanced technical, strategic, and ethical competencies to protect digital systems and respond to modern cyber threats. Students will be able to:
- Understand Core Cybersecurity Principles: Demonstrate a solid foundation in core areas of cybersecurity including network security, cryptography, systems security, ethical hacking, and digital risk management. Graduates will understand how cyber threats emerge and how systems become vulnerable in real-world settings.
- Apply Practical Security Skills in Real Environments: Secure operating systems, networks, databases, and cloud-based infrastructures by configuring firewalls, access control, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems. Graduates will be able to implement technical safeguards in organizational and cloud environments.
- Conduct Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing: Utilize ethical hacking techniques to identify and exploit vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies. Students will gain hands-on experience with tools such as Kali Linux, Metasploit, Nmap, and Burp Suite
- Respond to Cyber Incidents and Investigate Breaches: Detect, analyze, and respond to cyberattacks through structured incident response protocols and digital forensics. Graduates will be able to collect and preserve digital evidence, trace attack origins, and document breach investigations effectively.
- Develop and Enforce Security Policies and Procedures: Design and implement security policies, governance frameworks, and compliance strategies aligned with national and international standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, NDPR). Students will understand how to build security-aware organizational cultures.
- Demonstrate Legal and Ethical Awareness: Understand global and Nigerian legal frameworks including cybercrime laws, data protection regulations (e.g., NDPR, GDPR), and intellectual property laws. Graduates will be able to operate within legal boundaries and uphold ethical responsibility in the digital space.
- Demonstrate Leadership and Collaborative Skills: Lead projects, manage cross‑functional teams, and foster collaborative environments, showcasing strong leadership, teamwork, and project-management capabilities.
- Leverage Cybersecurity Tools and Technologies: Use a broad range of security software and platforms SIEM systems, malware detection tools, vulnerability scanners, and encryption systems to prevent, detect, and neutralize cyber threats across endpoints and networks.
- Communicate Cybersecurity Concepts Effectively Explain complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Graduates will be proficient in writing detailed reports, risk assessments, and delivering briefings to management, legal teams, or regulators.
- Collaborate in Multidisciplinary and Cross-Sector Teams: Work effectively with IT professionals, law enforcement, business leaders, and regulatory bodies to implement holistic cybersecurity strategies. Students will understand the interdisciplinary nature of cybersecurity in real business and government contexts.
